In a previous post we have mentioned the great work Land Securities are doing in developing Victoria. One of their projects Nova is due for completion in 2016 and we thought it would be a good idea to take a closer look at what we think could be a ground breaking development for Victoria.
Behind Nova’s bold contemporary look are four award winning architects. The collaboration between PLP, Benson + Forsyth, Lynch and Flanagan Lawrence was driven through their passion and vision for a new Victoria. With each practice bringing a unique set of creative skills to the project, Nova is set to be a truly inspirational addition to Victoria’s skyline.
When complete the complex’s 897,000 sq ft will be split between high quality apartments, an inventive restaurant quarter and 603,000 sq ft of world class Grade A office space.
The residential district will host 170 high specification luxury apartments, putting residents on the doorstep of one of London’s most prestigious districts. Each apartment has been carefully designed and uses the finest materials available. The flexible spaces enable personalisation to the highest level and offers excellent views of Buckingham Palace and Victoria.
The Restaurant Quarter is around 85,000 sq ft and has been labelled a ‘laboratory for new ideas’. It will provide the best in high profile retail, restaurants and bars. Nova, made up of five different buildings, will have a large pedestrianized and landscaped public space to house this Quarter.
Nova is at the centre of a major reinvention of identity that is taking place in Victoria. Along with developments such as Cardinal Place (2006), 62 Buckingham Gate (2013) and the Zig Zag Building (2015), the Nova Building is one more reason why businesses are looking to move to the area. Once complete, Victoria will truly be on its way to becoming one of the most vibrant districts in London.
